Brian Foy

In my old life my career had me work odd hours with long shifts that began suddenly. 10 years of that ground me down until I couldn't sleep. After a while I rediscovered an old passion of mine that'd ultimately cure my restlessness; street art.

I applied what I remembered from my younger days to canvas and plywood at home and before long I needed to rent studio space for all my finished work and materials to make more. I left my old career behind and leaned into expressing myself full time.

I paint landscapes from my travels with acrylic/oil/spray paint/oil pastel/ink/dye and more, layering different mediums to create depth and texture laid on thick. My impasto style is bold, colorful and unique enough to highlight the beauty in moments and spaces that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. Romanticizing urban decay and the world around me through my art is how I got to achieve mindfulness and be a happy person, I like to think my art encourages people to do the same.
